Temporary Summer Fosters Needed in Canada & the United States
Summer has arrived in Baja California Sur, and the heat is becoming increasingly difficult for many of the rescue dogs in our care.
Alfie’s Safe Haven Sanctuary is looking for temporary summer fosters in Canada and the United States who can open their hearts and homes to one of our sweet rescue dogs for a few weeks or a few months.
By fostering this summer, you can give a dog a safe, cool, and loving place to rest, enjoy new experiences, and feel the comfort of a family environment while helping us create much-needed space and relief for the dogs still waiting for their forever homes.
Dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities are available, and transportation can be arranged. You provide the love, and we’ll help with the rest.

She was found living on the streets in a neighborhood called El Campamento, near us. Some incredibly kind neighbors had been feeding her and keeping an eye on her for a while. When they realized she was pregnant, they reached out to us to see if we could help.
When we first went to drop off supplies for her upcoming birth, we immediately saw what a sweet and gentle soul she is.
Sadly, due to the lack of care during the early stages of her pregnancy, some of her puppies stopped developing, which caused her to go into early labor. After delivering three stillborn puppies and two live ones, her labor stalled, and we rushed her to the clinic.
She continued through the night, and nearly 20 hours later, she delivered her twelfth and final puppy—alive.
As we care for this Beagle/Chihuahua mama and her babies, we expect to spend over $2,000 USD on supplies, food, and veterinary care before they are ready for adoption.
In honor of the six sweet souls we lost, we ask for your support to help give Nela and her surviving puppies the care and future they deserve.
