You are safe here
Every dog deserves dignity, love, and a safe place
to rest.
Alfie’s Sanctuary provides a peaceful forever home for dogs who are often overlooked — seniors, displaced dogs, and those needing recovery or hospice care.

What Alfie’s IS
For many of these dogs, this is the first time they have known peace.
A sanctuary
A peaceful place where dogs who have been overlooked, displaced, or are nearing the final chapters of their lives are given safety, comfort, and love — a quiet home where they can rest with dignity.
A place of rest and care
A quiet space where dogs can slow down, recover, and be surrounded by patience, gentle care, and the simple comfort of feeling safe.
A dignified forever home
A loving and respectful home where dogs can live the rest of their lives with comfort, safety, and the dignity every precious soul deserves.
A home for dogs no one normally chooses
A place where overlooked dogs are welcomed with patience, kindness, and the chance to be loved just as they are.
Life here is quiet
Days move gently, with soft routines, warm beds, and peaceful moments in the sun — a calm place where dogs can finally relax and simply be.
Gentle routines
Simple, comforting rhythms of daily care — quiet walks, nourishing meals, soft beds, and moments of calm that help dogs feel safe and at ease.

She was found living on the streets in a neighborhood called El Campamento, near us. Some incredibly kind neighbors had been feeding her and keeping an eye on her for a while. When they realized she was pregnant, they reached out to us to see if we could help.
When we first went to drop off supplies for her upcoming birth, we immediately saw what a sweet and gentle soul she is.
Sadly, due to the lack of care during the early stages of her pregnancy, some of her puppies stopped developing, which caused her to go into early labor. After delivering three stillborn puppies and two live ones, her labor stalled, and we rushed her to the clinic.
She continued through the night, and nearly 20 hours later, she delivered her twelfth and final puppy—alive.
As we care for this Beagle/Chihuahua mama and her babies, we expect to spend over $2,000 USD on supplies, food, and veterinary care before they are ready for adoption.
In honor of the six sweet souls we lost, we ask for your support to help give Nela and her surviving puppies the care and future they deserve.
